215 Linden Avenue Highlands NJ Another Home Sold By The Ten Hoeve Realty Group
More than six months after selling their home and completing their move from New Mexico, Maynard and Laura Cowan settled on the purchase of their new home in Highlands, New Jersey. A gorgeously renovated, raised and expanded Cape Cod style home, it sits perched atop Linden Avenue a short walk from Sandy Hook Bay and all the pleasures of downtown Highlands, NJ.
Upon deciding to move East, closer to Laura’s family, the Cowans listed and sold their home in New Mexico. In the interim to ensure they weren’t forced to “settle” on a home, they decided to rent in downtown Jersey City for ease of commute. Unfortunately while working with another local REALTOR in the Monmouth County they encountered the same few issues repeatedly. Upon seeing a new property come to market and requesting to see it, their agent’s response time and availability continually lead to them missing out on properties that fit their needs but got offers on them within the first few days. They also were shown numerous properties by their REALTOR that didn’t match all of their needs. After more than eight months of this they decided they needed a change. That’s where we came in.
We received a call from Erin McManus-Keyes, a long-time friend and fellow REALTOR out in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Erin explained the situation and asked for the help of the entire Ten Hoeve Realty Group in assisting Laura and Maynard find the new home they so desired. D.J. and Victoria worked quickly to fully assess the Cowans needs vs. wants, the homes they’d already seen, and properties they had their eye on.
Laura and Maynard deserve immense credit for taking their search seriously. They kept copious notes on the properties we sent them online and those they visited in person, including a spreadsheet detailing comparative information on the homes they liked and disliked. An educated buyer and a motivated REALTOR are an unbeatable team.
On April 19, 2018 Laura and Maynard settled on their purchase of 215 Linden Avenue in Highlands. The prior owners did a wonderful job on the expansion and renovation. Maynard no doubt will be looking to convert a portion of the walkout basement to his competition prep kitchen. And, I see Laura settling in for a nice glass of wine on their paver patio reminiscent of the “Secret Garden”.
The Cowans were represented legally by Anthony Bufano, Esq. from Fair Haven and their REALTORs Nicole “Nici” Ten Hoeve. David “D.J.” Ten Hoeve, and Buyers Agent Victoria Harwood. Funding for the home purchase was handled by Derek Laurain of Quicken Home Loans. The buyers’ title work was handled by Michael Taeschler of Triton Title & Abstract.
The seller was represented legally by William Iler, Esq. from West Allenhurst and by Resources Real Estate REALTOR Thomas McCormack.
